The best car ever - 1999 Pontiac Grand AM
By Corey - December 15 - 6:53 amI bought this car with a 113k on it. The engine still purrrrs and runs perfect. The transmission does not even miss a beat. It runs beautifully. And the ride is excellent. It is difficult to explain, it rides soft and quiet enough to not get bounced around but also the ride is stiff enough to feel the road. I like this car inside and out. The 3.4l engine in the car is one of GMs best(next to the 3.8L of course) and I know the transmission in these cars are solid. I expect to easily get over 200,000 miles out of this car without spending a lot of money and/or something major going on. Thanks

Silver Bullet - 1999 Pontiac Grand AM
By Dredee - March 5 - 2:00 amHey. This car is great. Bought used and wondering how they messed up the cruise, but it gets great gas mileage for a six, like 345 miles to a 12 gallon tank, plus is just all out comfortable. I will get an 04 next year before they change it to the G6.

Much better than the old Grand Ams - 1999 Pontiac Grand AM
By plasticman - December 22 - 10:00 amI bought this vehicle in mid 98 right after it was introduced. I dont usually do that, since I like to give the manf. time to work the bugs out. I really like the way the car handles and the V6 has good power for a non- sports car. The only problem I have had is I had to replace the water pump at about 55,000 miles. The mechanic blamed it on the new Dexcool antifreeze.

i love my car - 1999 Pontiac Grand AM
By bethne - April 1 - 4:20 pmHad this car since 1999. Original owner. Replaced alternator once, brakes twice and had some work done on catalytic converter. Also passenger side mirror fell off pretty easily. Enough bad though. I love this car. Im very hard on vehicles and this one has held up really well. 120,000 miles, most are in town. Pretty good gas mileage, about 33 mpg. Handles great in snow and ice. Very comfortable on long trips. Heating and cooling system is wonderful. Lots of storage. Drives really well on back/country/mountainous roads, including dirt, gravel, and mud.

GrandAm, my best car ever - 1999 Pontiac Grand AM
By cc - February 10 - 5:06 pmO.K., so we all know about the window motors, weak right side mirror, flimsy bumper covers, brake problems, faulty security lights, and the costly intake gasket job requirement at about 60,000 miles. Still and all, this car has been wonderful to drive. I wouldnt expect to operate any car without having to fix kinks, and when I add it all together, this car has not been very expensive to own. As for the security light not allowing you to start the car, try a new key, also, letting the car just sit for 20 minutes before you try to restart it works everytime. One honest mechanic just replaced a wire and it did not happen again for over a year. Beware expensive repairs for this.
